What LiftAuth does for each elevator.

01Maintenance

Maintenance visits are created from the Maintenance Contract.

Set up a Maintenance Contract once and LiftAuth creates the visits. Each Job is signed off on site, and the contract decides whether an Invoice is drafted.

02Issues

Log faults as Issues, and dispatch breakdowns.

An Issue is one fault on one elevator. Technicians log it on site with photos and video, and it stays open until it is fixed. Your office and the Building Manager both see it.

For a breakdown, your dispatcher rings Technicians’ phones, and the first to accept takes the call-out.

Photos & videoDispatchSeverity
03Fault Analytics Pro

See which faults keep coming back.

Your office gives each Issue a fault code and a cause: Equipment, Misuse or Building / third-party. Fault Analytics shows the most common fault codes, and faults per elevator-year by building, manufacturer, model and age.

You can download a period’s report as a PDF to share with the Building Manager, with a written analysis drafted by AI.

04Repairs, parts & billing

Quote the repair, use parts from stock, and invoice when the Job closes.

Send a Quote for the Building Manager to accept. Parts come from your stock, with Inventory on Pro. Larger repairs run as a project, with a Purchase order stage. A draft Invoice can follow when the Job closes.

We schedule inspections and make sure you don’t miss anything.

Every elevator’s next inspection is listed by due date, soonest first. Send the inspector one booking link. They pick an hour from your Team’s calendar, you confirm it, and the Building Manager agrees to it.

Syracuse’s elevator rules in detail.

Last checked Oct 6, 2026 against the Syracuse Property Conservation Code and the city’s Code Enforcement and Central Permit Office pages. General information, not legal advice.

Who enforces

The Division of Code Enforcement enforces the elevator rules: One Park Place, 300 South State Street, 315-448-8695. Permits go through the Central Permit Office on the 1st floor of the same building, 315-448-8600.

Inspections and maintenance

  • Elevators, dumbwaiters and escalators are inspected and maintained under the city’s elevator safety code and the NYS Uniform Code (Property Conservation Code §27-62).
  • Hoistways and pits are kept free of debris, and machine rooms free of oil, grease and anything combustible.
  • Every elevator landing has a sign telling people to use the stairs in a fire.
  • A violation is fixed by the date on its notice, which the city can extend. The owner reports each correction to the Division in writing within two weeks.

Licenses and permits

  • Syracuse licenses elevator mechanics, on top of the NYS elevator contractor license, and publishes its list of licensed elevator contractors.
  • Elevator permits are applied for through the city’s online permit portal. A consulting engineer under contract to the city reviews elevator plans against ASME A17.1.
